IP68 sealing handles one-metre submersion for approximately thirty minutes, the IP69K rating shrugs off high-pressure hot-water jets up to 80 degrees Celsius, and MIL-STD-810H shock certification means the chassis is drop tested from 1.2m across 26 different angles. Inside the sealed chassis sits a 5500mAh built-in battery, a 100W AXON chipset with Boost, Pulse, Eco and Temperature Control modes, and the new iTank T sub-ohm tank running Vaporesso's GTi dual mesh coil platform. The 5500mAh built-in cell is one of the largest internal batteries Vaporesso has ever fitted to a kit. On the 0.4 ohm GTi coil at 45-55W most DTL vapers see approximately two days of mixed use, and the 0.2 ohm coil at 60-75W still returns roughly a day and a half before needing a top-up. USB-C charging accepts 9V/2A or 5V/3A inputs and refills the kit flat to full in approximately one hour. The 0.96 inch colour OLED shows exact battery percentage so you are never guessing how much is left.

AXON Chipset Modes Explained

The AXON chipset behind the screen runs five modes on one device. Smart reads the resistance of whichever GTi coil clicks into the iTank T and sets wattage automatically. Boost pushes peak power for a punchier first second of every puff. Pulse holds power steady for consistent flavour across the puff. Eco dials output back to extend battery life on long days. Temperature Control protects sensitive coil builds from dry hits at extreme wattage. Five clicks of the fire button cycles through modes, three clicks locks the screen, and the up/down buttons step wattage in 1W increments.

IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H Ruggedisation

Three separate ruggedisation ratings sit on the Armour Ultra and each one means a different thing. IP68 is dust-tight and survives full submersion at one metre for approximately 30 minutes. IP69K is a higher bar than IP68 in one specific sense - it tests against high-pressure hot-water jets, which is the kind of pressure-washer exposure normal IP-rated kits will not pass. MIL-STD-810H is the US military drop and shock standard, with the Armour Ultra passing 26 drop angles from 1.2m. The combination is the most weatherproof sub-ohm kit in the Vaporesso line-up.

iTank T Sub-Ohm Tank and Slide-to-Fill

The iTank T is a 2ml UK TPD-compliant sub-ohm tank. The top cap slides sideways to expose a wide fill port that takes any standard shortfill or nic salt nozzle. Top airflow rotates from fully closed (tight restricted DTL) to wide open (full direct-to-lung cloud production). SSS leak-resistant tech keeps the tank dry on the outside, so when the kit gets dropped in a rucksack it does not seep liquid through the airflow holes.

How to Use the Armour Ultra

Five clicks of the fire button powers the device on. The 0.96 inch OLED shows your selected wattage, coil resistance, mode, battery percentage and puff count. Use the up and down keys to step wattage in 1W increments. To switch modes, hold the fire button while pressing up or down, or cycle through the on-screen mode menu. Let a fresh GTi coil prime for approximately five minutes after refilling before the first puff to avoid a dry hit. Slide-to-fill the iTank T from the top cap and re-seat firmly before storing in a pocket.

Compatible Coils and Tank

The Armour Ultra Kit ships with the iTank T sub-ohm tank, which runs Vaporesso's GTi mesh coil platform. The 0.2 ohm GTi sits pre-installed and the 0.4 ohm GTi ships as a spare. Coil life typically runs approximately one to two weeks depending on e-liquid sweetness and wattage. Replacement GTi coils and the iTank T spare glass tube are stocked in the Vaporesso coils range at Ecigone.

The 510 thread also lets you swap the iTank T for any other sub-ohm tank you already own. GTi coils do not fit the Armour G or GS pod kits, which run a different coil platform.

Pairing the Armour Ultra with E-Liquid

Both GTi coils are sub-ohm dual mesh builds, which means they want high-VG e-liquid for proper vapour production and coil life. Run the Armour Ultra Kit with shortfill e-liquids at 70VG or higher - shortfills are designed for sub-ohm kits like this and give you the cloud production the 0.2 ohm coil is built for.

For the 0.2 ohm coil at 60-75W, look for shortfills marked 70/30 or 80/20 VG/PG. Dessert, custard and menthol profiles tend to perform especially well at this resistance. For the 0.4 ohm coil at 45-55W, the same shortfills work but the cooler draw can suit fruit and ice profiles better. Nic salts are designed for low-wattage MTL pod kits and are not the right pairing for sub-ohm DTL coils - add a 10ml nic shot to a 50ml shortfill to reach 3mg if you want a higher-strength sub-ohm hit.
