Vaporesso XROS 4 Pod Kit

Often written as xros4 without the space, the Vaporesso XROS 4 keeps the slim form factor that made the XROS 3 a UK favourite while adding a brighter screen and three power modes - eco, normal and boost - for finer control over each draw.

The Vaporesso XROS 4 pod vape kit gives you three power modes, dual activation and adjustable airflow on an approximately 1000mAh battery. The XROS 4 is the step up from the XROS 4 Mini because you get a fire button and manual power control on top of the auto draw, so the same pod range can run tight MTL or airier RDL depending on how you set it.

Two XROS COREX 2.0 pods ship in the box: a 0.4 ohm for RDL and a 0.8 ohm for MTL. The XROS 4 also accepts the newer COREX 3.0 Hive Mesh pods across the same 0.4 ohm to 1.2 ohm range, so you can stick with the original mesh or upgrade to the newer coil tech without changing kits. Pair lower resistances with 50/50 e-liquid and higher ones with nic salts. Ten colours are available including Bloody Mary, Sunset Neon and Pastel Palette.

XROS 4 Power Modes and AXON Chip

Three modes on the fire button: low, medium and high. Low stretches the battery out when you don't need much vapour, high pushes more power through the coil for warmer hits. The AXON chip also has a Smart mode that reads the resistance of your pod and picks the wattage for you.

Leave it on Smart mode and forget about it, or flick through the three manual settings yourself. Most people land on medium and leave it there for everyday use.

Battery and Charging

Same approximately 1000mAh as the XROS 4 Mini but with the three power modes you've got more control over how quickly you burn through it. Low mode on a 0.8 ohm pod will get you well past a full day. High mode on the 0.4 ohm will drain it noticeably quicker.

USB-C 2A charging takes approximately 30 minutes from flat to full. The battery light on the front tells you roughly where you're at.

Airflow and Activation

The airflow slider sits on the side and goes from fully closed to wide open. Tighten it right down with a 0.8 ohm pod for a real MTL draw, or open it up with the 0.4 ohm for something airier.

Both auto draw and fire button work at the same time on this kit. You don't have to pick one or the other, they both work at the same time. Most of the time auto draw is enough, but the button's there when you want a longer or more controlled pull.

Compatible Pods

Every XROS pod from 0.4 ohm to 1.2 ohm clicks straight into the XROS 4 - both the original COREX 2.0 pods the kit ships with and the newer COREX 3.0 Hive Mesh pods. The pod shell, magnetic connector and chassis cradle are identical across both generations - the 2.0 vs 3.0 difference is coil technology inside the pod, not kit fit. COREX 3.0 reads approximately 40% richer in flavour with longer coil life, COREX 2.0 has the broader resistance ladder and a warmer profile some long-term XROS vapers prefer.

How to Use the XROS 4

Out of the box, the XROS 4 ships with the 0.4 ohm pod pre-installed. Five rapid clicks of the fire button switches the device on or off, and the same five-click sequence also locks and unlocks the kit so it will not fire in a pocket or bag. The LED on the front blinks to confirm the action, then settles into the battery indicator.

Filling a pod is a side-fill job. Pull the pod out of the device, lift the silicone plug on the side of the pod, drip e-liquid in until the level reaches the fill line, then push the plug firmly back into place. Drop the pod back into the kit and let it sit upright for approximately 3 to 5 minutes before the first vape so the wick has time to saturate. Skipping that priming step is the most common cause of a burnt first puff.

To change power modes, give the fire button three fast clicks. Each three-click cycle steps through low, medium and high, with the LED colour changing to confirm the current setting. Hold the fire button to draw, or rely on the auto draw sensor and just inhale.

The 0.8 ohm pod that ships with the XROS 4 is built for nic salts. Pair it with a 10mg or 20mg nic salt e-liquid in fruit, menthol or tobacco for a tight MTL hit.
